Welcome! And Meet the Professor

Welcome to AGED 4243! I am excited to teach this course during the second summer term. This course will have guided instruction, but you will be expected to learn on your own also. Be sure to use the resources provided in your books and on your assignments sheets.

About the Professor
I am an assistant professor of agricultural communications in the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education at the University of Arkansas. I provide instruction for undergraduate and graduate agricultural communication and education courses.

I received a Ph.D. in Agricultural Education with emphases in Agricultural Communications, Leadership Education, and Distance Education from Texas A&M University in 2007. I earned a M.S. in Agricultural Systems, Technology and Education with an emphasis in Adult Learning from Utah State University in 2002. Additionally, I have a B.S. in Animal Science with an emphasis in Management and a minor in Business.

Prior to completing my education, I worked for five years in the not-for-profit business sector and five years in the not-for-profit division. Within my work experience, I gained management, leadership, marketing, advertising, public relations, programming and sales experience. As a faculty member, I have developed ten new courses (five undergraduate and five graduate). Since beginning my position at the University of Arkansas, I have taught 12 courses, and I continually look for ways to enhance/improve my courses. Please let me know how I can improve this course to better meet your needs as future professionals.

I am married to Dr. Don Edgar who is a faculty member in the AEED department. We have five children: Madison (12), Paden (12), Alissa (11), Emily (10), and Ryle (8).

I look forward to working with you as we expand our learning about graphic design.
~Dr. Leslie Edgar
